The Buffalo Bills are back on the road in week 10 to take on the Miami Dolphins in a divisional matchup.
The Bills are coming off of two key wins and find themselves in a textbook trap game. The Dolphins are in disarray and currently sit at 2-7. It’s been a forgettable season for Miami that will likely lead to a completely new regime next year. Despite their struggles, they’re extremely familiar with the Bills and I expect them to rise to the occasion. Buffalo cannot overlook the Dolphins in this one and have to come prepared. The last time these two teams faced off, the Bills squeaked out a narrow victory thanks to a game sealing interception in the 4th quarter.
In order for the Bills to win on Sunday, they will need to play their game. This means, running the ball effectively, getting into 2nd and 3rd and shorts and converting in those situations. From there they’ll want to cash in on redzone opportunities and find ways to separate themselves from the Dolphins. Keeping them in the game too long can prove costly for Buffalo.
Defensively, the Bills need to get pressure on QB Tua Tagovailoa. Mike McDaniel likes to have him get the ball out quickly and use his speedy weapons to generate yards after the catch and pick apart Sean McDermott’s soft zone scheme. Buffalo’s DBs need to be responsive, instinctive and tackle in space. The Dolphins will also look to get RB Devon Achane the ball in the open field. He’s a big play threat that Buffalo will need to account for all day long. Look for Miami to use him in both the backfield and as a receiver with lots of checkdowns, tosses and pitches coming his way.
I do expect Buffalo to take care of Business in this one and am optimistic that the team will come out firing. The Bills have looked more complete, organized and aggressive since the bye week and I’m hopeful that version of the Bills will show up on Sunday. My prediction is Bills 34-13
